The story
South African sports super fan, Joy "Mama Joy" Chauke has stood firm on her support for Royal AM and its controversial owner following a difficult week for the KwaZulu Natal outfit.
Thwihli Thwahla have been at the centre of a salary payment controversy with its platers and technical team staff missed training last week after the club failed to pay them in December.
Royal AM's chairman remains under curatorship due to a legal battle between the president, Shauwn "MaMkhize" Mkhize and SARS over a reported R40 million tax debt owed by the Durban-based businesswoman.
The club is said to have settled its payment issues with the players and coaching staff, seeing them return to training after the postponement of their Saturday league clash against Chippa United.
In light of all of this, MaMkhize remains a trending topic on Twitter/X and is not short of support and empathy from Mama Joy. The Royal AM super fan has shared a series of posts backing the club and its owner.
