The story

Experienced midfielder, Miguel Timm, may have fallen down the pecking order at the Buccaneers since the arrival of Thalente Mbatha in January, but he remains resilient and focused despite the challenges.

The Bafana Bafana international has managed just two appearances in all competitions for Ezimnyama Ngenkani this season, with substitute appearances in both the MTN8 and CAF Champions League.

In his interview on Marawa Sports Worldwide, Timm mentioned that he's not one to sulk and complain to management about his lack of gametime, stating he respects the selection decision of the Bucs coaches.

At 32, Timm has the mental strength to deal with setbacks on the pitch, highlighting how there's no room for complaints when the team is doing as well as it is.

"I think I have enough experience to know how to conduct myself when things are not going the way you'd want, obviously not making the squad or sometimes on the bench.

"I'm not the type of player to also ask hierarchy, whether it's the management or technical team, I respect the decisions and choices. And what can I complain about at this moment? We haven't lost a game yet," stated Timm, who wants to improve his game further.

"It's about continuing to work on myself, being an example, there's a lot of young players. We train together in the morning, I don't think it would be a good look for me to be dragging my feet or sulking when you have a lot of young players who are trying to push and get there.

"And instead, I choose the other route to being an example, continue having a good work ethic. That's all that I'm in control of, the rest is not up to you," says the experienced campaigner, who knows just how negatively and unhappy player can impact a change room.

"I've seen it happen in the past when I was younger, individuals that are more experienced and are not playing can become disruptive. I don't want to be known as that type of player," concluded the ex-Marumo Gallants star.
