After a superb campaign with Spain at the UEFA Euro's tournament, Chelsea FC's Marc Cucurella has silenced several haters.
Check it out!
The story
Marc Cucurella was mainstay in Luis de la Fuente's La Roya outfit that went unbeaten on their way to secure Spain's fourth UEFA Euro's crown.
Before Spain's 3-0 tournament opener against Croatia, Manchester United legend Gary Neville had singled out Cucurella as the weak link in La Roya's line up.
Neville, who had been working as a pundit for ITV throughout the tournament in Germany, said: "He's not been convincing at Chelsea. He's played a few games towards the end of the season.
"He's aggressive, he's tenacious, he's a busy little full back. The price tag still astounds everyone to this day. The Spanish defence, it's got a lot of experience now but there's something just missing from Spain that makes you feel like they're going to go all the way.
"I have to say that him being at left back is a good example of why we think that," added England legend, Neville, a statement the Spanish left-back took very personally.
After the full-time whistle went, Cucurella didn't waste much time in silencing Neville by posting a graphic of the pundit's comments and simply replied: "We went all the way Gary. Thanks for your support."
The Three Lions were left heartbroken on Sunday night in Berlin after suffering a 2-1 defeat, as Nico Williams' brilliant opener and Mikel Oyarzabal's late goal sealed England's second consecutive European Championship final loss.
It was Cucurella who played the key through-ball to Oyarzabal's winner, rounding off a memorable tournament for the Blues man, who started all but one of his side's games, standing out as one of the better performing left backs of the tournament.
