Khune's MOTM money
Over R1.5 million in Man of the Match prize money has been handed out to players at this season's Carling Black Label Knockout Cup, with Itumeleng Khune receiving the last R100k cheque of the season on Saturday.
Khune, who is currently suspended by Kaizer Chiefs for allegedly arriving to his club's training base under the influence of alchohol, was voted MOTM after the Black Label All Stars team defeated the tournament winners, Stellenbosch FC 2-1 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Although Khune wasn't able to keep a clean sheet on the day, with his Amakhosi teammates Ashley Du Preez and the livewire Mfundo Vilakazi getting onto the scoresheet, the popular veteran won over the voting fans to get the R100k MOTM award.
After the encounter, the baller was spotted embracing his wife Sphelele outside the stadium and gave her the cheque. Sphelele posted a video of their wholesome interaction on Instagram, joking that the MOTM award has finally been given to the right player.
She hinted what the money will be spent on, posting a #SchoolFeesMoney hashtag as part of her IG story caption.
