The story
Bafana Bafana fans in the city of roses came out in their numbers to show the national team support in their World Cup qualifier match against Zimbabwe.
Super-sub Thapelo Morena bagged a brace to keep Bafana Bafana's 2026 Fifa World Cup journey on track, with an impressive 3-1 win over Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium on Tuesday.
Bafana are in second place in Group C with level on points with leaders Rwanda, who boast a superior goal difference. The players enjoyed a boisterous atmosphere at a packed Free State Stadium, from the first minute till after full-time.
Fans braved the 8 degrees Celsius cold to fill the 46 000-seater arena, evoking memories of Bloem supporters cheering on the now defunct Bloemfontein Celtic.
