Pitso shows love to Parker
Former Al Ahy and Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane still finds himself after leaving the United Arab Emirates towards the end of last year.
With plenty of speculation linking him to the the Kaizer Chiefs job and a gig back in the Middle-East with Saudi Pro League side, Abha Club, Pitso is enjoying his down time back in Mzansi and is currently a pundit for SuperSport for the Africa Cup of Nations.
He recently linked up with Bernard Parker, a player he's retained a good relationship with since coaching him at Bafana Bafana.
Mosimane was handed a copy of Parker's "From a Shack to Destiny" autobiography, which chronicles how he used football to move his family from a shack and into a proper home.
The 37-year-old, who is currently on the books of TS Galaxy and recovering from a leg-break, kicked off his professional football career in 2004 at Benoni Premier United and went on to play overseas in countries such as Serbia, Greece and Holland before returning home in 2011 to play for Kaizer Chiefs.
Mosimane shared some kind words to the baller, congratulating him for the longevity he's shown in his career:
"Die Hond, thanks for the book. It has a great message, you have been through a lot [and] you're showing that it wasn't just given to you. This book is going to motivate the younger ones, even the current professional players.
"They must know about your story, the history, what happened, where you come from, what made you a success in South Africa, what made you successful in Europe, and why you're still 'Die Hond' up until today.
"So, a lot of reading I have to do, I know, but I don't need to know much because I know you've been consistent, you work hard as a player and you carried yourself professionally inside and outside the game. You've shown the Europeans that you can score goals, you've scored goals for us in the national team, a lot of goals. You are a motivation to the youth and to anybody who aspires to be successful," says Pitso.
