The story
As the UEFA Women's EURO 2025 summer draws near, adidas unveils a new collection of away kits designed exclusively for the women's national teams of Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and Wales, as they gear up for their biggest challenge in international European football.
Crafted to make an impact both on the pitch and in the stands, adidas designers drew inspiration from the distinctive artistic styles that define each nation's cultural identity.
From the realism and expressionism of Renaissance Italy to the bold graffiti street art seen in modern German cities, the kits blend contemporary, fashion-forward designs with a nod to each country's rich heritage.
Let's dive deeper into the details of each kit and their ratings, ranging from one to five stars:
Belgium (3 stars)
Inspired by the abstract geometric patterns that became prominent in Belgian art from the 1920s, the design features a bold yellow, red, and orange reimagining of the classic RBFA red flame — a symbol deeply associated with the nation.
The kit is finished off with a 'Belgium' inscription on the neck, accompanied by a matching flame graphic, which was also used in the men's national team's Home kit for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Germany (3 stars)
Germany's away kit pays homage to the vibrant street art scene that's embraced throughout the country. Bold lines in shades of red and pink are applied in a contemporary graffiti style, reflecting the lively murals that adorn the heart of cosmopolitan cities.
The design is completed with a yellow 'Deutschland' sign-off on the neck, styled to resemble spray paint.
Italy (4 stars)
Italy's jersey draws design inspiration from the realism and naturalism movements of the Renaissance, where artists focused on the accurate depiction of natural elements.
In this design, varying shades of mint green illustrate lifelike vine branches that weave across the front and back of the shirt, finished with an 'Italia' sign-off on the neck.
Spain (5 stars)
Spain's design is inspired by the Cubism movement of the 20th century, which was spearheaded by Pablo Picasso, and is known for deconstructing as well as reassembling subjects into abstract forms.
Pink and grey geometric shapes contrast against an off-white base, symbolising a bold new era for the Spain Women's national team, the reigning world champions.
Sweden (4.5 stars)
This striking design celebrates pioneering artists whose revolutionary work challenged conventional norms and pushed creative boundaries.
Featuring an abstract blue graphic that transitions from dark to light, the visual pays tribute to the early forms of Swedish abstract expressionism.
Wales (3.5 stars)
Inspired by the design of the traditional Welsh Love Spoon, which is the symbol of loyalty and unity, the Welsh away kit features intersecting wavy lines the mirror the shape of the spoon.
These lines are crafted using varying shades of green. In contrast, a bold red "Gorau Chwarae Cyd Chwarae" motif is displayed heavily on the neck area.
