With less than 48 hours to go before the KwaZulu-Natal leg of the Engen Knockout Challenge kicks off in Durban, all eyes will be on the two reigning champions AmaZulu FC and Durban Ladies as the two tournament favourites look to retain their title.
Both Aming ahead of the much-anticipated weekend of youth football in Durban, Engen Knockout Challenge ambassador, Thabo Senong who is quite familiar with the talent in KwaZulu-Natal, having coached at the tournament previous said he was looking forward to seeing what the province had in store.
"KwaZulu-Natal has proven to be a happy hunting ground for talent over the years. Because of its vast nature, the province produces different types of players whether they be skilful, strong, athletic and intelligent, the province always gives scouts a variety of options" said Senong.
Durban Ladies headline an interesting group of three consisting of Babhambe FC and Adams Academy.
Fellow tournament favourites in the U-20 women's section include Sunflower FC who are in Group B alongside Umlazi Lions and UKZN FC.
Looking at the U-18 boys division, AmaZulu FC are in Group BB alongside Inanda XI and Mtuba Spurs FC.
KZN Academy, who are also tipped to be strong contenders are in Group C alongside Midlands Academy and Mandeni Celtics FC.
