Lebohang Mokoena had Sundowns' first meaningful effort in the 16th minute, as he forced Aces goalkeeper, Cyrie Mollo, into a fine save.
Aces created their first opportunity just before the halftime break, as James Bell volleyed just over the crossbar from 20-yards out.
Mokoena was presented with another opportunity shortly after the halftime break but 'Cheeseboy' somehow headed wide of the mark from six-yards out.
However, Mokoena made up for his miss in the 54th minute, he collected a pass from Percy Tau, before slotting into the far corner with a composed finish.
Aces then hit back in the 61st minute courtesy of a fine individual goal from Judas Moseamedi, the striker showed great skill to beat his marker before rifling the ball into the back of the net.
Sundowns restored their lead in the 73rd minute, as Mokoena profited from a poor clearance to slot into the top corner from 12-yards out.
The Brazilians survived a late surge from Aces and held on for the win and will now meet the University of Pretoria in the final.
