Chiefs failed to make it past the group stages in the inaugural edition, going down to eventual champions the Unversity of Pretoria in the round robin stage.
However, Chiefs get their new MDC campaign underway with a clash against Jomo Cosmos on Sunday afternoon at the Makhulong Stadium.
"We are looking at improving on last season's performance," Khuse told the club's official website.
"We achieved our objectives last time around, but we plan to do better this season when it comes to reaching the knockout stage."
"While we didn't advance to the knockout stages, we did support the first team in terms of giving game time to players from the senior squad."
Khuse added that Chiefs want to bridge the gap between the academy and Steve Komphela's first team.
"I will be at the game, because we want to bridge the gap between the development structures and the first team. The idea is to have one soccer philosophy for all the Chiefs sides, from the Under-17s to the senior team." added Khuse.
