Simphiwe Selepe opened the scoring for Pirates after seven minutes and Lonwabo Magugwana doubled their lead ten minutes later.

The Buccaneers were reduced to ten men ten minutes before the break after Selepe was red-carded for dangerous play.

However, Mofokeng made it 3-0 for Joseph Makhanya's charges on the stroke of half-time.

Pirates extended their lead at the top of the standings to four points.

Mamelodi Sundowns 1-1 Stellenbosch

Mamelodi Sundowns lost further ground of log-leaders Orlando Pirates after playing to a 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch in a fight for second spot on Saturday morning at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Sundowns remained in third position on the table and trail leaders Pirates by four points and a point behind second-placed Stellies.

Swallows 0-5 SuperSport United

SuperSport United handed Swallows their fifth consecutive defeat after hammering them 5-0 on Saturday afternoon at Dobsonville Stadium.

Oratilwe Moloisane and Thabang Makubo gave SuperSport a two-goal lead heading to the half-time break.

Makubo completed his brace in the second stanza alongside goals from Motebang Matube and Thabang Mahlangu.

Sekhukhune United 2-2 Cape Town Spurs

Sekhukhune United could not win three games in a row after playing to a 2-2 draw against Cape Town Spurs on Saturday morning at Isak Steyl Stadium.

However, Jordan Marks snatched the equaliser for Babina Noko three minutes before time.

Polokwane City 1-0 AmaZulu

Polokwane City finally ended their ten-game losing streak after edging AmaZulu 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Thato Matli opened the scoring for Rise and Shine on the seventh minute and that was enough to give them their first victory of the season.

Chippa United 1-2 Richards Bay

Richards Bay won three games in a row after coming from behind to beat ten-man Chippa United 2-1 on Saturday morning at Wolfson Stadium.

Chippa took the lead with only 12 minutes on the clock but they were reduced to ten men on the half-hour mark after Abraham Mashele was red-carded.

Sfundo Khanyile levelled matters for the Natal Rich Boyz early in the second stanza and Siphephile Buthelezi quickly gave them a 2-1 lead just a minute later.

The Chilli Boys had a penalty in stoppage time but goalkeeper Siphesihle Mtshali earned Richards Bay all the three points with the save of the spot-kick.
