Rampant Chiefs Overtake Bucs, Title Race Blown Open

Kaizer Chiefs boosted their title chances in the DStv Diski Challenge after thrashing Chippa United 4-0 on Saturday morning at Wolfson Stadium.

The Glamour Boys won their fifth game out of the last sive outings and extended their unbeaten run to six games.

Amakhosi jumped above Orlando Pirates on the log, as they went up to third, six points behind table-toppers Mamelodi Sundowns, with six games remaining of the campaign.

Sekhukhune United 0-0 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates missed the chance to close the gap behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after they were held to a goalless draw by Sekhukhune United on Saturday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

As a result, Pirates dropped down to fourth on the table with 46 points, seven points behind table-toppers Sundowns, with six games left to play.

Stellenbosch 2-1 Mamelodi Sundowns

Log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns' seven game winning run came to an end after a 2-1 loss to Stellenbosch on Sunday afternoon at Idas Valley Stadium.

An own goal by Sundowns in the first two minutes gave Stellies the lead and Thulani Mini doubled their lead eight minutes later.

Siyabonga Mabena pulled a goal back for the Brazilians midway into the first stanza but it was not enough to avoid defeat.

The Cape Winelands side cut the lead behind Masandawana to just two points in second spot.

SuperSport United 1-0 Cape Town City

SuperSport United got back to winning ways after a narrow 1-0 win over Cape Town City on Saturday morning at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Kabelo Selowa broke the deadlock for SuperSport just before the interval and that was enough to secure victory.

Richards Bay 5-0 TS Galaxy

Richards Bay won their third game in a row after hammering TS Galaxy 5-0 thanks to a brace by Wandile Ngema on Sunday morning at Chatsworth Stadium.

Thandoluhle Gazu opened the scoring with eight minutes on the clock, Ngema doubled their lead on 15 minutes and Siphesihle Buthelezi made it 3-0 just after the half-hour mark.

Ngema made it 4-0 for the Natal Rich Boyz as they were running riot ten minutes from the break and completed his brace.

Nkosikhona Ndaba rounded off the scoring for the hosts with 18 minutes remaining.
