Pirates Lose Five-Goal Thriller, Downs Drop Points

Orlando Pirates 2-3 SuperSport United

Orlando Pirates lost only their second game of the DStv Diski Challenge campaign after they were edged by SuperSport United in a five-goal thriller on Saturday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

Jeza opened the scoring for SuperSport in the first ten minutes and Keenan Bezuidenhout doubled their lead a minute into the second stanza.

Siphamandoa Msezana pulled a goal back for Pirates just after the hour-mark and Mbekezile Mbokazi levelled matters with 18 minutes remaining.

However, Bezuidenhout snatched the winner for Matsatsantsa and completed his brace five minutes before time.

Sekhukhune United 1-1 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns' three-game winning run was halted after a 1-1 draw against Sekhukhune United on Sunday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Gomolemo Kekana broke the deadlock for Sundowns early in the second stanza but Olwethu Guliwe snatched the equaliser for Babina Noko in stoppages.

Marumo Gallants 0-1 Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch opened a three-point lead at the top of the table after a narrow 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants.

After the sides could not be separated in the first stanza, Quwan Plaatjies snatched all the three points for Stellies with the winner in added time.

The Cape Winelands steered three points clear of second-placed Kaizer Chiefs, who have a game in hand.

Golden Arrows 3-0 Magesi

Golden Arrows ended a four-game losing streak after thrashing Magesi 3-0 on Saturday morning at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Ntuthuko Khumalo broke the deadlock for Arrows midway into the first stanza and Mthembu Kwanda doubled their lead early in the second stanza.

Abongwe Newman secured all the points for Abafana Bes'thende after making it 3-0 with 20 minutes remaining.

Richards Bay 5-1 Polokwane City

Richards Bay won back-to-back games after hammering Polokwane City 5-1 courtesy of a hat-trick by Thabiso Ndelu on Saturday morning at Chatsworth Stadium.

Ndelu scored two goals in the first stanza and completed his hat-trick in the last minute.

The other goals were scored by Ntlonelo Bomelo and Nkosiyethu Mkhabela for the Natal Rich Boyz.
