Chiefs Dent Sundowns' Title Charge, Pirates Bounce Back!

Mamelodi Sundowns 2-2 Kaizer Chiefs

Ten-man Kaizer Chiefs dented Mamelodi Sundowns' title chances after a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Thulani Mabaso opened the scoring for Chiefs on seven minutes with a rocket into the roof of the net but Kutlwano Letlhaku levelled matters for Sundowns on the half-hour mark.

Thando Buthelezi gave the Brazilians the lead shortly after the hour-mark.

Amakhosi were reduced to ten men moments later after Davis Morwasi was red-carded.

However, Xolani Cossa found the equaliser for Chiefs two minutes before time.

As a result, the Brazilians trail leaders Stellenbosch by three points in second spot on the table, with three games remaining while the Glamour Boys are out of the running for the title.

Chippa United 0-1 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates got back to winning ways after a narrow 1-0 win over Chippa United on Sunday morning at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Following a goalless first stanza, Lethabo Mazibuko got the decisive goal for Pirates shortly after the hour-mark.

The Buccaneers are lying third on the log and are virtually out of the title race, as they trail leaders Stellenbosch by eight points, with three games left.

Stellenbosch 4-0 Cape Town City

Stellenbosch extended their lead at the top of the table after drubbing Cape Town City 4-0 on Sunday afternoon Idas Valley Stadium.

Thulani Mini scored a hat-trick, with two goals in the first stanza before completing his hat-trick in the second stanza.

The other goal was scored by Kyle Bailey as Stellies ran riot.

Stellenbosch extended their lead at the top of the log to three points, with three games remaining.

SuperSport United 3-2 Royal AM

SuperSport United won their fourth game in a row after edging Royal AM in a five-goal thriller on Saturday morning at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Thabang Mahlangu netted a hat-trick for Matsatsantsa, who had to settle for fifth spot on table. Thwihli Thwahla are placed 11th.

Cape Town Spurs 1-2 Sekhukhune United

Sekhukhune United won back-to-back matches after edging Cape Town Spurs 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at UWC Stadium.

Kabelo Ngobeni gave Sekhukhune the lead within the first three minutes and Tshepiso Tshehla doubled their lead on the half-hour mark.

Spurs pulled one goal back 18 minutes before time.
