Chiefs To Change Keeper, Downs Likely to Rotate?

Chiefs To Change Keeper, Downs Likely to Rotate?

Both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to make changes to their starting line-up when they meet in the Carling Knockout quarterfinals at FNB Stadium.

The clubs meet for the second time this season after clashing in the league a few weeks ago, but this time a place in the semi-final will be up for grabs.

Chiefs go into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw with rookies Magesi and head coach Nasreddine Nabi could make changes, starting in the goalkeeping where Fiacre Ntwari has been playing. There is a possibility that Bruce Bvuma could get an opportunity to play against the Tshwane giants.

Inacio Miguel is set to return to the back four after serving a one-match suspension during the week and he is likely to partner Rushwin Dortley, with Reeve Frosler and Bradley Cross at right and left back respectively.

Gaston Sirino started on the bench against Magesi but could return to the starting line-up in place of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, while Ranga Chivaviro and Mfundo Vilakazi are expected to complete the front three. In midfield, Amakhosi are likely to go with the three of Yusuf Maart, Njabulo Blom and Mduduzi Shabalala.

Sundowns, meanwhile, have been rotating their squad and it's not likely to be any different against Chiefs this evening. Ronwen Williams is likely to start in goal, with Thapelo Morena, Mothobi Mvala, Mosa Lebusa and Asekho Tiwani likely to make up the back four.

In midfield, Sundowns could bring back Teboho Mokoena after he missed the clash against Cape Town City during the week, with Marcelo Allende and Aubrey Modiba partnering him.

Upfront, Sundowns look set to go with the same front three of Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Peter Shalulile and Iqraam Rayners, after they played together against City in midweek.
