Cape Town City have confirmed releasing five players as part of the team's planning for next season.
Compared to last season where they finished fourth on the DStv Premiership log, City moved down by one place in the recently concluded campaign to end in fifth position although they achieved the same number of points (45).

With the team planning for improvements next season, a few players have been earmarked to join the club while some from this season's squad have been allowed to move on.
As confirmed by the Mother City outfit, the five players that have departed are Thabiso Kutumela, Jo Paciencia, Relebogile Mokhuoane, Bongani Mpandle and Khanya Leshabela.

As indicated by Siya sources in the know, the Citizens could be set to unveil Carlos Stenio Fernandes Guimaraes do Carmo, who is an Angolan midfielder known as Carlinhos, with the deal understood to be as good as done.

The 29-year-old previously played for Petro de Luanda back home, as well as Young Africans of Tanzania.
Meanwhile, former Orlando Pirates midfielder Fortune Makaringe, who has been linked with Sekhukhune United, is also expected to appear in the colours of the Citizens in the new season if all goes according to the plans between all those involved in the deal.
