Thuso Phala Is Confident SuperSport United Can Win The CAF Confederation Cup

SuperSport United winger, Thuso Phala, knows that his side will only be remembered if they can finish the job by winning the CAF Confederation Cup final. Read: Sundowns Meet Swedish Coach Matsatsantsa jet out to Lubumbashi on Friday morning ahead of Sunday's clash with TP Mazembe and Eric Tinkler's side will be itching to get a good result in the first leg of their first ever continental final. Phala, who has been pivotal for the club in their march to the last two, believes that they can go all the way, praising their fighting spirit and ability to bounce back even when losing. SuperSport were 2-0 down to Mazembe in June's group game but managed to leave the DRC with a standing ovation and a point having battled back to 2-2. No team from Southern Africa has won the tournament in its current format. Speaking in this week's issue of Soccer Laduma, the winger said, "The great thing about our team is that it doesn't matter how many goals we concede, we will come back. We've proved ourselves and we go into this game with the same attitude and mentality. "We can't come this far and be forgotten because people only remember the winners, not the runners-up. We just have to give it the last push so that we can put our hands on that trophy. "We have to get something to show for all the sacrifices we've made so far. We have such a united and quality team and there are more trophies to come for this wonderful club." See our full CAF Confederation Cup feature in the latest issue of Soccer Laduma. Available now.
