The Tunisia side host the Buccaneers knowing that their late away goal at Orlando Stadium gives them the upper hand for the second leg, especially given their impressive home record of late.
ESS have won 17 of their last 20 home games in all competitions, and haven't lost a match in their own back yard since November 2014. They have also kept clean sheets in five of their seven home games in this year's CCC tournament.
However, Eric Tinkler's side go into the game having scored in every single one of their CCC matches in 2015, and as the top scorers in the tournament. They have lost just one game away from home in the CCC, and will be confident that they can at least get one in Sousse.
Permutations:
0-0 – Etoile du Sahel win on away goals.
1-1 – Straight to penalties, no extra time.
2-2/3-3 etc – Orlando Pirates win on away goals.
Of course a win for either side on the night will secure them the CCC title outright.
Meanwhile, as a side story, ESS striker, Baghdad Bounedjah, and Pirates' Thami Gabuza, both find themselves on six goals going into the final game, and will battle it out for the Golden Boot in Tunisia.
Pirates leave for Sousse on Thursday and then face the Tunisian giants at Stade Olympique de Sousse on Sunday evening.
