Tinkler, who is now in his second CCC final in three years, believes that SuperSport can take heart from the fact that South African clubs have beaten Mazembe in the past, and scored two past them in Lubumbashi earlier this year. Both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have beaten the Congolese giants in recent years, and though they will be a tough nut to crack, Tinkler is optimistic. Speaking after the game, when asked about his final opponents, he told the media, "The final against TP Mazembe… You're talking about a team that has a lot of experience. A team that has obviously won the Champions League and the Confederation Cup, but it's a team that we have played and have beaten. "I've explained to the players that we needed to come here to this hostile crowd and hostile environment and play without fear. That's how we have to treat the game against TP Mazembe, irrespective of all of the experience that they have. We've beaten them in the past and we can do it again." The first leg of the final – in the DRC, is due to take place on the weekend of November 18th, while the second leg in Pretoria the following week.
