SuperSport United wasted a host of chances as they drew 1-1 with Club Africain in their first leg CAF Confederation Cup semi-final tie.

Grobler had a chance to break the deadlock inside three minutes, but the striker missed a complete sitter.

Brockie then went close after 12 minutes as his header sailed wide of the upright, following a cross from Grobler.

The visitors were then awarded a penalty on 20 minutes. Khalifa stepped up and made no mistake from the spot.

SuperSport continued to push for an equaliser, but were let down by their finishing, most notably Grobler who squandered a couple chances before the break.

With the hosts struggling to break the down the Tunisian outfti, Eric Tinkler introduced Thabo Mnyamane for Renielwe Letsholonyane.

Chances continued to fall for SuperSport, with Brockie heading over the crossbar from close range in the 68th minute.

Tinkler opted for another change after 74 minutes as Brockie was withdrawn for Dove Wome.

Mnyamane and Dean Furman went close with long range effort after 82 minutes as SuperSport upped the tempo.

Tinkler's charges were awarded a penalty in the 88th minute, which Mnyamane converted to bring his side level in the tie.
