Cape Town City head coach, Benni McCarthy, has revealed the importance of his side challenging in all competitions next season including the CAF Confederations Cup.
City secured their spot in the Confederations Cup next season, after ending the 2016/17 Absa Premiership campaign in third place on the league standings.
To challenge on the continent after their inaugural season in the Premier Soccer League is a great achievement for the Mother City-based club, however, after the appointment of a new head coach at the helm, there were questions raised about the importance of the CAF CC next season.
Speaking at his unveiling, City head coach, McCarthy, revealed that he has ambitions of winning every trophy that is up for grabs and no competition is more important than the other.

"It is question of how big your squad is and I have stretched my question to the chairman of how important is it to play in the CAF CC, is that where the club sees themselves as far as they can or maybe even going all the way or is it just that if it becomes less important than winning the league and doing well in domestic competitions?" McCarthy told the media at a press conference.
"Me? I want to win everything if I can, I want to be able to be one of those guys that say that I've got a low percentage of losses as a manager and a win percentage of 100% I hope.
"So for me, every competition is as important as (the) other and I want to win everything and if we (are) capable enough to go into Africa and play to the best of our abilities and to the abilities that I know they can play, win there come back and we put the same focus on the league as well," he added.
