Mamelodi Sundowns will head straight into the first round of the CAF Champions League competition, where they will only know the fate of their opponents once the preliminary round is concluded.
The Brazilians ended off their previous CAF Champions League campaign with an exit from the quarter-final stages of the competition this year, this coming quickly after being crowned the champions of the continent in 2016.
Now, Masandawana will look to regroup and challenge once again in the competition but will have to wait a while before their opponents for the first round can be revealed to them.
Sundowns along with Al Ahly, Wydad Athletic Club, TP Mazembe and Etoile du Sahel will have to wait until the conclusion of the preliminary round in order to find out who they will be locking horns with in the first round of the competition.
The CAF Champions League preliminary draw was conducted today, with Rayon Sport FC and Lydia FC set to battle it out in a two-legged fixture, with the winner set to face Sundowns in the first round of the competition.
