Head Coach Pitso Mosimane is set to begin assessments for his CAF Champions League squad amidst uncertainty regarding the immediate future of some of his first team players.
According to the CAF rules and regulations, the deadline day to submit the 30-man squad list for the CAF Champions League is on December, 31.

"6. A complete list of a maximum of 30 players, along with the number of their licenses, validated by their national associations, must be sent by registered on the online system or sent to CAF Secretariat in case of using the offline system.
7. This list must be registered or submitted to CAF Secretariat (in case of using the offline system) before the 31st of December of the year preceding the competition. It can be amended until the 15th January of the year of the competition, but after the 15th January the list becomes final and no new players can be added nor replaced up to the end of the competition,
except in the case contemplated in the above para 3, 5 and the below para 8." – as revealed on CAF's official website.
This means that Sundowns will have until January 15, for the latest to submit their final list of players for the CAF Champions League competition, despite the uncertainty surrounding the immediate futures of some of their first team players.

As things stand, the likes of Themba Zwane, Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro's future at Masandawana is currently clouded by uncertainty, with these players recently been linked with a move away from the Chloorkop-based club in the upcoming January transfer window.
This means that the club will need to wrap up contract talks for the likes of Zwane and Tiyani Mabunda, who are in the final year of their deals at Sundowns, should Mosimane wish to have them at his disposal in the upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.
