While the Premier Soccer League continues with their executive committee meetings to deliberate the way forward for domestic football, CAF have also been in discussions with the affiliated Member Associations.
Minister of Sport, Nathi Mthethwa confirmed on Saturday morning that all sport; contact and non-contact, will be able to resume training as of June 01, this under strict protocols and conditions.
However, clubs were already urged to be patient and await an official announcement from the league following the rest of the executive committee meetings this week.
The Siya crew reported this evening that after the Exco adjourned its meeting today, the PSL's acting CEO, Mato Madlala urged all club chairmen and CEOs to once attend Thursday's BOG meeting via video conference at 11am.
As things stand, the public is yet to be updated on the latest happenings.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football have also been in discussions about the way forward for football on the continent.
CAF, on their official website, confirmed the latest by saying, "In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, CAF on Monday, organized a video-conference meeting with Safety and Security Officers of the affiliated Member Associations and other stakeholders to discuss the impact of the outbreak on the safety and security aspects as far as the football on the continent is concerned."
"CAF is aware that the impact of COVID-19 on football safety and security will be phenomenon hence, the need for all concerned to be brought to speed on the possible challenges. Also, to make recommendations on possible steps to be taken by Member Associations before the commencement of football in their respective countries."
"Meanwhile, CAF is monitoring the situation closely and working with the relevant authorities including the Wealth Health Organization (WHO), FIFA amongst others on the impact of the virus on the continent, and will announce developments to our competitions at the appropriate time."
