Chiefs bounced back from a humiliating 3-1 defeat against Bucs in an Absa Premiership encounter the weekend before to take the tie on penalties and book a final berth.
The Amakhosi were able to hold on for a 0-0 draw after extra time to send the game to penalties and held their nerve to win the shootout 6-5.
'Salt Vinegar' spoke to Soccer Laduma about what his side did differently to ensure that the Buccaneers couldn't play their expansive attacking style of football.
"It was good to win! Against Pirates, and in every tournament we play, we want to win and that's why we went out for a win in the game on Saturday," Katsande told Soccer Laduma.
"But it wasn't about revenge. I don't think there was much that we changed. We knew that, just like in the first game, they would come at us.
"We had to make sure we closed their wingers and midfielders down so that they didn't pass the ball to their strikers. That was the main difference compared to the first game. We didn't give them space to play."
