Imagine those who are in rehab and their teams have given them programmes. Some might not have the facilities at home to carry out their schedules. So this whole thing has brought a lot of challenges in terms of how players are managed, motivated and treated. Chances are the season will not be completed before the end of June. The levels of anxiety and stress among footballers will rise given that some of their contracts will be ending in June. Are they going to extend the contracts by another month or two, especially for those contracts that were supposed to finish by the end of June? Will the PSL make such a timely decision? The situation is affecting every South African so therefore all basis should be covered. Mental illnesses are real. And need to be addressed with the same swiftness as if the footballer was physically injured.
