A Manchester United star has called for the 2019/20 season to be declared null and void if it cannot be completed due to the coronavirus outbreak, which could spell bad news for Liverpool and his own club.

The Premier League announced on Friday that it intends to finish the current campaign once it is safe for football in England to resume.
The English game, along with most other major leagues in Europe, remains suspended, but will be allowed to finish at a later stage, according to the latest from UEFA and FIFA.
However, United defender Luke Shaw has now stated that he would be happy for the 2019/20 campaign to be declared null and void if it cannot be finished.
"Scrap it and start again. Start it again, yeah. It's gotta be, you know," he said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
"If we can't carry it on, it's got to be void."

It seems, though, that Shaw has risked the wrath of his own club's fans as well as Liverpool supporters with his comments – United could miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification while the Reds would have to wait even longer to claim a long-awaited league title if the season was voided.
The Red Devils are currently in fifth place, which would be enough to qualify for next season's UCL if Manchester City's two-year ban from all European club competitions is upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Liverpool, meanwhile, remain at the top of the table with a 25-point lead, but would miss out on the title if the season was declared null and void.
