Kiwi striker accuses PSL club of racism

Kiwi striker accuses PSL club of racism
In recent years the ABSA Premiership has attracted a good few New Zealand players to it's football teams. Driven by the lack of opportunities to play professionally in New Zealand and the leagues strong financial clout, many have moved to South Africa to pursue their careers.Jeremy Brockie was recently interviewed on a New Zealand podcast called Between Two Beers where he discussed his career and his experiences playing in South Africa. Brockie discussed his initial success and his recent struggles and was very complementary of the fans and South Africa in general. Brockie's compatriot Kris Bright however had a very different experience that he says "it was embarrasing", "it stuck with me and it was a real shame".The former Fortuna Sittard and Lincoln City striker was on trial at Bidvest Wits during the 2015/16 season. Discussing his experience on the podcast, Bright said that he "banged in goals" and "it was quite obvious I was going to be a good player for the team".Bright claims that it all went wrong when he went into the club Chairman's office to enquire about a contract."Then he said to me (Chairman) and I will never ever forget this", "we would love to have you", "unfortunately you the wrong colour to play for this club". A bemused Bright said he asked for clarification from the Chairman and claims the response was "you white and we already have two, we don't need a third one".The 2015/16 Bidvest Wits squad included Rowan Fernandez, Dillon Sheppard and James Keene from England.
