Speaking at the media briefing at the Nelson Mandela Foundation of the upcoming Global Watch Summit which will be held at the Emperors Palace, Johannesburg from 20-21 November 2014, Sexwale declared that for Morocco to use the Ebola pandemic as a reason to pull out as hosts was unfair and not well thought out and, that the North African nation was using Ebola as a racial weapon.
"Morocco did not say they are refusing to host the AFCON because of any racial issues, however the perception is inescapable that Morocco is doing what it's doing because the majority of people affected by Ebola are from the sub-Saharan region," said Sexwale.
"Many sick people are getting into Morocco today, Americans and Cubans go there and yet for the AFCON it tells people to stay out, therefore its inescapable for people to say this decision could be racially motivated."
Sexwale's criticism also comes on the backdrop of Morocco's decision not to host the 2015 AFCON but willingness to host the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup which starts only a month earlier then the AFCON in December 2014.

"Morocco is also hosting the FIFA Club World Cup, so why do they want to host that one and not AFCON, simply because most of the clubs competing in this tournament are coming from Europe and South America, maybe FIFA should stop them from hosting that tournament as well," concluded Sexwale.
