The 16 Teams Set For AFCON 2017 Have Been Confirmed

Several of Africa's 'big boys' will make the trip for AFCON 2017 in January after impressing during their respective qualifying campaigns, however, the likes of Nigeria and South Africa will not be taking part.
Uganda managed to qualify for their first finals since 1978, while Egypt attend the showpiece for the first time since winning it back in 2010. Meanwhile, Southern Africa will be represented by just one team, Zimbabwe, who attend the finals after over a decade of failing to qualify.
Algeria will go into the tournament with the best attacking record after scoring 25 goals in qualification, while Egypt and Morocco had the most solid defences, conceding just one.
The draw for the AFCON 2017 groups will take place on 19 October, while the tournament itself will get underway on 14 January.
