The continental showpiece will be hosted by Equatorial Guinea and starts on January 17, where Mashaba will look to guide his team to African glory. Having been drawn into the group of death, which includes Algeria, Senegal and Ghana, getting out of the group stages will be no easy task.

Although Mashaba has regularly called up a number of players, he has explained that no one is guaranteed a place in the team.
He said that it is unfortunate that some of the players from Europe will not be able to join the team in time, before the announcement of his final squad. He told the Siya crew that it will seem unfair to some of the other players in the event some absent players are included in the team.
"I would have loved to have a look at all the players before making the final selection as no one is guaranteed a place in the team. As for saying it will be tough or easy selecting the team, I can't say, but we know what we want for the country. So let's wait for Tuesday and see," Mashaba concluded.
