Riyad Mahrez Is The Only Player With Two Goals At AFCON 2017

Dikwena Sign Three
With the first round of games completed there have been 12 goals scored in Gabon during AFCON 2017, though only three of the eight games have finished with a team taking three points.
Riyad Mahrez, who bagged a brace for Algeria against Zimbabwe, is the tournament's top scorer at this stage, while 10 other players have managed to get on the scoresheet for their respective clubs.
Ghana's Andre Ayew made history when he surpassed his father's record of six goals at AFCON competitions, scoring his seventh from the spot against Uganda as the Black Stars secured their 51st AFCON win. No nation has won more AFCON games than them.
Ayew now goes level with the likes of Roger Milla, Jay-Jay Okocha and Benni McCarthy – among others – with seven AFCON goals, but is still a long way off record scorer, Samuel Eto'o, on 18.
Golden Arrows' Kuda Mahachi, is still the only South African-based player to score at the tournament, but there is a chance for that to change tomorrow night against Senegal.
Currently, 33.3% of the goals scored at AFCON 2017 so far have been scored by players based in England – namely Mahrez, Ayew and Sadio Mane.
Only one player has managed to score more than one goal at the Africa Cup of Nations so far, but there's only been two goalless draws at this stage.
