Honourable Sports and Recreation Minster, Fikile Mbalula harbours no feelings of regret over South Africa's decision not to step in as hosts for the 2015 CAF African Cup of Nations tournament following Morocco's decision to withdraw as host owing to Ebola fears.

Speaking at Bafana Bafana's farewell press briefing yesterday, the expressive Mbalula once again repeated the notion that South Africa was not the "Big Brother" of Africa and that other nations were just as capable of hosting successful AFCON tournaments.
"We as government are confident that Equatorial Guinea will host a successful 2015 AFCON tournament. Other countries should be given the opportunity and platform to host such events," said Mbalula.
"We have no regrets whatsoever. The concerns that were raised are genuine," he added.

"I'm now looking forward to go to Equatorial Guinea and enjoy the wonderful pleasures that country has to offer and to support our boys as they fight for African glory," concluded the Minister.
