African football's governing body, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has announced a new eight-year partnership with oil and gas giant, Total.

The announcement sees the end of CAF's long-term partnership with mobile network operator, Orange, and will see Total take over as their title sponsor starting with the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon next year.
"This partnership is a major milestone in our ongoing search for additional resources to accelerate African football's development, bring its governance up to date, upgrade its sports infrastructure and advance its performance globally," CAF president Issa Hayatou said in a statement.
"As a leading multinational in its field, with strong ties to Africa, Total will make a significant contribution to CAF's initiatives to foster personal and professional growth for young Africans."
The tournaments Total will now be sponsoring are as follow:
• Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon)
• African Nations Championship (Chan)
• CAF Champions League
• CAF Confederation Cup
• CAF Super Cup
• U23, U20 and U17 Africa Cup of Nations
• Women's African Cup of Nations
• Futsal Africa Cup of Nations
