Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba will announce his final 23-man Afcon squad on Tuesday, December 30, as the national team prepare for the continental tournament in in Equatorial Guinea.

The head coach has indicated that there will be no surprises to the squad, despite sources within the camp having indicated that Bafana technical team were discussing the possibility of calling Kaizer Chiefs' Itumeleng Khune and University of Pretoria's Thabo Mnyamane to the squad.

Mashaba explained that unless one of his current squad players get injured, he will be focusing on the players already in camp.
"No there will be no surprises. We will select from the players we have in camp and maybe from the ones who will join us from overseas. Apart from that I don't see why we should look beyond what we have selected.
"Unless we are faced with injury or an emergency that we can't deal with, but apart from that we have a good squad to pick from. So expect no surprises on Tuesday," Mashaba concluded.
