Ghana coach Avram Grant has joked that he will call John Terry if the AFCON final goes all the way to penalties, after the Chelsea skipper cost him a Champions League win in 2008.
Congo DR Claim The Bronze Medal
Ghan will take on the Ivory Coast in the final of the tournament, which is to be hosted in Equatorioal Guinea tonight, at Estadio de Bata.
The last time the two giants camer up against each other in the final was in 1992, where the Black Stars lost via penalties. Grant, who experienced the heartbreak of losing a penalty shoot-out with Chelsea in 2008, explained how he would handle the situation with some light-hearted humour.
"I am going to call John Terry for some advice," he told reporters.
The Israeli trainer went on to say that fans can expect a final with a lot of good football on display and concluded that he doesn't feel that he needs to motivate his players.
"We have seen quality players and quality football in this tournament but we can expect even more. There are a lot of good players in both line-ups and I think because of that we can expect a quality final," he added.
"My players are very motivated, they do not need any speeches. We have come a long way after nobody gave us a chance. They will show this on Sunday."
The AFCON final is scheduled to begin at 21:00 tonight.
