An annoyed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has blamed Gabon's poor preparations for their early 2017 Africa Cup of Nations exit.
Zidane Urges Real Fans To Support Struggling Ronaldo
Gabon needed to beat Cameroon on Sunday to have any hope of qualifying for the next stage of the tournament, but they could only manage a 0-0 draw, and Aubameyang feels that while his teammates gave it their best in the competition, their lack of proper preparation hindered the team.
"It is really annoying because we had chances. Sadly, there are days when it doesn't go in, like my first chance from two metres out," Aubameyang said, as quoted by the BBC.
"We are all really disappointed. We didn't really have the time to prepare. We started a little bit late.
"But I am really proud of all the players, because everyone gave their all.
"I think we were stronger than every other team in the group, but it is about everything, the preparation, the change of coach, it wasn't easy."
After the game against Cameroon, the Borussia Dortmund striker did not shake hands with the opposition players and was also seen having a heated debate with coach Jose Antonio Camacho as he stormed down the tunnel.
"Of course, everyone is disappointed, it is usual in these situations," Aubameyang added.
"The players feel it the most."

Spaniard Camacho was appointed as Gabon coach just 43 days before the tournament started, replacing the sacked Jorge Costa.
