AFCON 2015 Qualifying Round Up

Burkina Faso moved a step close to securing qualification, after they edge Lesotho 1-0 in their Group C encounter on Saturday afternoon. Jonathan Pitriopa scored as early as the third minute to seal the win, which moved Burkina into pole position in the group, a point ahead of Gabon. Uganda picked up a much needed victory, after they defeated Ghana 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a solitary stike from defender Savio Kabugo. The win has moved the Cranes into second spot in Group E, a point behind the Black Stars. Algeria maintained their 100 percent record in Afcon qualifying after they defeated Ethiopa 3-1 on Saturday night. Sofiane Feghouli, Riyad Mahrez and the in-form Yacine Brahimi secured the three points for the Algerians, which moved them up to 15 points. Christian Gourcuff's side are the only side left to have won all their qualifying matches so far.
