2015 African Cup of Nations
Group D
Teams: Cote d'Ivoire v Guinea
Date: 20 January 2015
Venue: Estadio De Malabo
Guinea certainly have their backs against the wall as they take on Cote d'Ivoire in their opening 2015 African Cup of Nations, Group D match at the Estadio De Malabo on Tuesday.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 18h00.
Cote d'Ivoire, led by the likes of Manchester City's Yaya Toure, are favourites heading into the game against Guinea, at least according to history.
The two teams have met in 15 previous matches of which the Elephants have won ten games, Guinea only three and two have ended in draws.
Guinea have failed to get a win over Cote d'Ivoire since 1994 and are winless against the Elephants in their last eight official matches.
Guinea, though, will take heart from the fact that their last outing against Cote d'Ivoire ended in a goalless stalemate in February 2012 in Abidjan.
Neither team was too impressive in qualification for the 2015 edition of Afcon. The Elephants finished second in their qualifying group behind Cameroon as did Guinea behind Ghana.
Here is how they line-up.
Cote d'Ivoire: Gbohouo, K. Toure, Kalou, Tiote, Yao, Bony, Aurier, Y. Toure, Serey, Bailly, Kanon.
Guinea: N. Yattara, M. Yattara, Sylla, Pogba, Camara, Traore, Constant, Conte, Keita, Fofana, Sankoh.
