Ahead of Real Madrid's UEFA Champions League showdown with Manchester City on Wednesday night, manager Zinedine Zidane has heaped praise on Pep Guardiola, whom he has called "the best".
Los Blancos will host the Citizens in the first leg of their round of 16 tie on Wednesday, which will see three-time UCL-winning manager Zidane go up against two-time winner Guardiola.
Despite the difficult season City are having domestically, the Frenchman has insisted he has been positively influenced by what his rival has achieved in his career, saying that, for him, the former FC Barcelona boss is the best in the world.
"We talked about his training sessions, how he managed the team, and he was very sincere with us," he said, according to Reuters.
"We were inspired with the work he was doing, he motivated us even more.
"There are so many great coaches, but for me, he is the best."
Interestngly, Wednesday will be the first time Zidane and Guardiola meet competitively as managers.
