The two managers were embroiled in a mammoth battle in England's top flight during the 2018/19 season, with Manchester City boss Guardiola reigning supreme as the Citizens retained their league title, pipping the Reds by a single point.
After reaching their second successive Champions League final, Klopp's side managed to end the season on a high, securing a 2-0 defeat over Spurs courtesy of goals by Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager, who revealed that Guardiola called him after the victory over Spurs, was again the subject of the Spaniard's sentiments at a basketball match between Baxi Manresa and Real Madrid in Catalonia on Sunday night.
"Both Barcelona and Liverpool are very good teams, Liverpool are the European champions, they are very strong," Guardiola said, as per the Daily Mirror.
"When there is such a high level, if you do not have your day, that is when you lose.
"We (Pep and Klopp) have a beautiful rivalry, but not only with them, there are five very strong teams and that's why the Premier League is such a tough competition.
"Next season, we will start from scratch and we will see what happens."
