The Champions League, in its current format, began in 1992 – we decided to have a look at the competition's top 10 goalscorers, and only one African makes the list.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently became the Champions League's record scorer and comfortably leads the list with 82 goals.
His longstanding rival Lionel Messi follows in second place with 77 strikes, and he is just ahead of previous record holder Raul Gonzalez, who netted 71 goals in the tournament.
Chelsea legend Didier Drogba is the only African on the list and sits in eighth place, with 44 goals.
