Real Madrid and Barcelona are widely considered as favourites to lift the European title, followed by German giants Bayern Munich, but the Portuguese is of a different opinion.
"Neither Real Madrid nor Barcelona are favourites to win the Champions League," he told AS.
"There are 16 equal candidates."
Prior to Chelsea's game against Paris St-Germain, where they drew 1-1 in France, Mourinho revealed that the French champions has asked him to take over as manager twice, but he turned down their offers due to his commitments with Real Madrid in Spain.
"I know the PSG project well, I know it well because when they start this project with the owner, the president and Leonardo, I was to be the coach," he said.
"I met them in Qatar, so I know the project well.
"Because I was in Real Madrid and it was a real ambition for me to be champion in Spain, England and Italy."
Mourinho's side will go in to the second tie on the 10 March with a valuable away goal in the bank.
On the domestic front, The Blues are currently seven points clear at the summit of the English Premier League.
