Serie A Report: Sampdoria 1-2 Juventus 10 January 2016

Serie A Result: Sampdoria 1-2 Juventus Date: 10 January 2016 Venue: Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris Juventus kept in touch with Serie A leaders Napoli after securing a 2-1 victory at Sampdoria on Sunday night. The Old Lady took the lead in the 17th minute. A seemingly harmless ball into the hosts' box found Paul Pogba who outmuscled Cassani and directed a measured strike past Viviano. Juventus were two goals clear just after the half-time break. A terrific pass from Dybala put Sami Khedira through in space, and the German did well to turn and rifle home the shot. The hosts came close to pulling one back on the hour mark when a cross found Eder in some space. He took his aim and thumped his strike just narrowly wide of the goal. Viviano was tested shortly thereafter as a speculative shot from Dybala crept towards the bottom corner of the goal. However, the goalkeeper was good enough to turn it around the post. Juventus should have been three clear in the 63rd minute. A cross found Alvaro Morata unmarked in the area, but his header went wide of the target when it should have been directed home. Sampdoria reduced the gap in the 64th minute. Antonio Cassano collected a pass from the left and quickly made space for a shot that found the far bottom corner of the goal from the angle. However, Juve held on for the win. The game came to a dramatic end as Niklas Moisander was shown a straight red card in stoppage time to reduce the hosts to 10 men.
