Despite only leaving Juventus last year, Cristiano Ronaldo is now reportedly demanding millions be owed to him by the Italian giants.
Calls In Portugal For Ronaldo To Be Dropped
Ronaldo is currently in Qatar trying to help Portugal capture their first-ever FIFA World Cup title, and while life on the international front may be good, matters at club level are once again a cause for controversy around the marksman.
The five-time Ballon d'Or recently agreed to have his contract with Manchester United terminated and now finds himself a free agent. The 37-year-old, as a result of the cancellation of that deal, forfeited the final seven months of his wages at Old Trafford, but it is at a different club that the football icon reportedly now has a salary dispute.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve owe €19.9 million (R361 million) to the Madeira native after the two parties came to a compromise during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The news comes a week after all the club's board members, including president Andrea Agnelli, vice-president Pavel Nedved and managing director Maurizio Arrivabene, resigned from the club.
Ronaldo's deal, like many others the club has conducted in recent years, is one of those being investigated by the Turin Public Prosecutor's Office for alleged false accounting and market manipulation.
