Napoli will meet Juventus in the Copa Italia final after defeating Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate following Saturday's second leg in Naples.
Antonio Conte made just one change from Inter's loss to Juventus in March, as Matias Vecino made way for January signing Christian Eriksen in midfield.
Napoli entered the contest with a 1-0 lead from the first leg, but that cancelled out two minutes into the second leg after Eriksen's cross evaded everyone and sailed into the back of the net.
The visitors were lucky not to have conceded after 22 minutes when Asmir Handanovic's handling error saw the ball land at the feet of Dries Mertens in the box, however the Belgian was unable to control with the goal at his mercy.
Napoli's perseverance paid off with just five minutes left of the first half as Mertens slotted home from close range after superb counter-attack that started with goalkeeper David Ospina.
With that goal, Mertens surpassed Marek Hamsik to become Napoili's all-time leading scorer with 122 goals.
The tempo dropped quite a bit in the second half, despite Inter's need to push for a second goal as the Napoli defence did to threaten the visitors' attack.
In an attempt to freshen up the attack, Antonio Conte threw on Alexis Sanchez, Victor Moses and Cristiano Biraghi for the final 20 minutes as Inter pushed for a second away goal.
Sanchez nearly made the perfect impact after creating space just outside the box before unleashing a low strike that sailed inches wide of Ospina's upright.
The visitors threw everything forward in the latter stages of the half, but Napoli remained resolute at the back to set up a final meeting with Juventus.
