Zlatan: I'll Retire When...

AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a stunning retirement claim in response to an ex-player saying he should hang up his boots amid his recent injury issues.

Man Utd Make Decision On Rashford's Future?

The Swede returned to the Rossoneri in January 2022 after previously representing the Italian giants between 2010 and 2012 before joining Paris Saint-Germain in France.

Since he re-joined the Milan club, the 40-year-old has contributed to 31 goals in one and a half seasons, proving he is still capable of performing at the highest level when fit.

His most recent injury, however, has seen him ruled out of action until next year, although that did not prevent the Serie A champions from extending his deal for an extra 12 months.

Ibrahimovic's knee injury has led to former Milan midfielder Zvonimir Boban believing the ex-Barcelona and Manchester United striker should call it a day on his career, advice he refuses to take.

In a recent interview, the veteran forward insisted he will only quit when a "stronger" player comes along.

"Boban said it would be better for me to quit? If I see a stronger player than me, I'll retire," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"But I haven't seen that yet."

Ibrahimovic also said he feels Milan are in better shape than they were in their previous league-winning campaign.

"We're even stronger than last year as a squad. Overall, we're a better team, the market in the summer after winning the Scudetto strengthened us and now we have more alternatives on the bench," he added.

"If I didn't like things, I wouldn't be here."
