With both of Zinedine Zidane's eldest sons having left Real Madrid, Luca Zidane has now revealed why he chose to leave the side coached by his famous father.
Los Blancos boss Zidane reportedly wanted to keep his son Luca at the club as his second-choice goalkeeper, but the player was loaned out to Racing Santander during the most recent transfer window.
The 21-year-old has now opened up about why he felt going out on loan was the right decision, even if it meant leaving his famous father behind.
"It's been a big change," Luca said, as quoted by Marca.
"I don't regret leaving Real Madrid. I knew it was an important step and I wanted to take it because I needed to be playing for a professional team.
"I had to play and prove my worth."
Luca, though, could return to the Santiago Bernabeu following his loan spell, but he insisted he is only focused on Santander for now.
"We'll see what happens in a few years," he added.
"I understand that it's normal to ask me about Real Madrid, but I'm not there.
"I see the team in a good state and although the results haven't been great in the Champions League, I trust the squad."
The shot-stopper has made nine appearances in Spain's second division in the 2019/20 campaign so far, keeping three clean sheets along the way.
