The seemingly frosty relationship between Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and president Florentino Perez is once again making headlines after reports emerged that the pair are at odds over the pursuit of Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

Throughout the previous transfer window, Zidane made his wishes clear that he wanted Los Blancos to sign Pogba from United, but a deal ultimately did not materialise.
The French manager has reportedly reiterated his desire that Real pursue his compatriot no matter the cost, and that the club should return with a fresh bid for his signature in January.

According to ESPN, Zidane could face opposition to the deal from within, however, with Perez said to be considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen instead.
Eriksen is in the final year of his contract with Spurs and is seen as a more financially viable option for Real, particularly after United priced the LaLiga giants out of a deal for Pogba in August.

This is not the first time that Perez and Zidane have bumped heads, with the pair reportedly clashing over a potential deal for Brazil superstar Neymar in the past.
