Vinicius In Hot Water Following Referee Comments?

Real Madrid talisman Vinicius Junior could be facing a lengthy ban following his comments about the refereeing in their most recent LALIGA encounter.

During the controversial draw between Real and Valencia on Saturday, emotions ran high as a potentially game-winning goal from Jude Bellingham was disallowed in the dying embers of the match.

This sparked anger and frustration among Los Blancos' players, compounded by the Englishman's subsequent sending-off by referee Jesus Gil Manzano.

In the aftermath, Vinicius, who scored twice in the 2-2 draw, voiced his disappointment to Real Madrid TV, implying that external factors had prevented their victory when he stated, as per Sport: "In the end, we couldn't [win] because they didn't let us."

It is now reported that his comment could land the Brazilian in trouble with the Competition Committee, as seen in previous cases where players faced bans for criticising match officials in similar fashion.

Players such as the winger's opponent on Saturday, Jose Gaya, have been handed retrospective bans for similar remarks, setting a precedent for the potential consequences facing the San Goncalo native.

The record European champions will likely to be concerned about the impact of any sanction he receives as a suspension to a player as important as the No. 7 could cause a bump in their title aspirations.
